Mission Statement

It is the mission of the Woodman Senior Center to provide a gathering place where persons 55 and older can meet to pursue mutual interests, participate in social and recreational activities that enhance their dignity, support their independence and encourage their continued involvement in and with the community.

Activities For You To Be Involved In: 

  • Play a game of pool or work on a jigsaw puzzle
  • Play a game of cards or join one of the weekly card groups – Euchre, Pinochle, Canasta, 500, Sheepshead, or Cribbage
  • Support groups – Parkinson’s and Memory Care Alliance
  • Read the paper – The Wisconsin State Journal, Richland Observer, and The Shopping News are available to you
  • Watch TV or sit and visit with friends
  • Read and trade with the Lending Library
  • Cozy up on the couch in front of the fireplace with a good book
  • Play BINGO! or Chickenfoot (dominoes)
  • Utilize the computers and surf the internet
  • Gentle Chair Yoga with Lara
  • Presentations by the ADRC and Our House
  • Walk in the gym or on the local trails
  • Snowshoeing
  • Richland Area Senior Citizen Group’s monthly potluck
  • AARP Tax Preparation
  • Movies on the Big Screen - the first and fourth Thursday of every month

Indoor Walking: 

  • Indoor walking is free for all!
  • Indoor walking takes place in the gym. Throughout the year, the gym is available for walking if it is not otherwise rented.
  • There is a calendar posted on the gym doors of when the gym is open for walking.

Movies on the Big Screen:

  • Movie shown in the Community Center meeting room
  • The first and fourth Thursday of every month
  • Movie starts at 9:30am
  • Free!

Richland County Senior Meal Site:  

  • The Senior Center is the site of the Richland County Senior Meal Site
  • Meal Site Center: Serves at 11:45am Monday – Friday (congregate) and M-W-F (home delivered)
  • For reservations please call by 12:00pm the day before. Contact Tina/Sandi at 608-647-2323 to make a reservation. 
  • Occasionally, it is necessary to make changes to the menus. All meals are served with milk.

 

Outside at the Senior Center, you may notice the pergola built over our patio! We have been given a wonderful gift from the Joan Woodman Orton McCollum Foundation to have the pergola built. Come, sit and relax in the shade and enjoy the calming sounds of the waterfall and the surrounding park. Construction by Jim Brewer with help from Jerry Smith.
